January 2023 Updates
January has been a very busy month for the Food Pantry!
New Freezer & Refrigerator
In preparation for the new freezer and refrigerator coming in February, the stage has been taken down, carpentry work and painting were finished in that area, plus a new electrical panel and wiring were installed. Two closets were created between the stage area and back wall of the church to be used as places to stock the most needed items.
The utility room and the connecting room were cleared out, painted, and a new floor was installed thanks to Char Parron and her husband. Pat Politis, Pat Hubbard, and Char Parron have reorganized the kitchen to create a more useful and pleasant place to work.
The Food Pantry is now a separate 501(c)3 entity!
The paperwork has been signed, tax IDs have been assigned and accounts opened.
The need now is food!
Most grants provide funding for infrastructure costs, not food purchases. Therefore, we continue to need money and donations of food. Last week we delivered food to 389 households. (Not too long ago we were wondering if we could handle making 200 weekly deliveries!) We are also seeing an increase in the number of people coming to the Pantry on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. We have been getting about 15 new households a week. Please help! The NEED is there!
